Overview
Jonathan “Boomer” Hart is a partner in WSHB’s Tampa office, representing admitted and surplus lines insurers in complex first-party insurance matters throughout the State of Florida. Boomer assists insurers with first-party claim issues ranging from legal assistance with claims investigations, conducting examinations under oath, and providing coverage opinions. He defends insurers against allegations of breach of contract, bad faith, and other extra-contractual relief. Boomer has significant experience in first-party matters involving disasters, wind/hail, fraud, theft, suspected arson, business interruption claims, appraisal, and plumbing failures in both residential and commercial properties. In connection with his insurance practice, Boomer regularly advises numerous London market insuring syndicates and defends same in Florida Courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Boomer’s practice focused on handling litigation for nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Boomer graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Walter Mann Award, was selected to join the National Order of Barristers and served as president of the Moot Court Board. While attending law school, he was a judicial extern for the Honorable K. Rodney May of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Boomer received his undergraduate degree in finance and business management from Florida State University.
