Derrig Speaks on Nationally Acclaimed Panel at CLM Annual
WSHB Partner, Craig Derrig, will be sharing his insights and experience regarding the common pitfalls as well as best practices when preparing employee witnesses for deposition and trial at the upcoming CLM Annual Conference. In this high-powered panel, entitled "Employee Witnesses: They Are Ours, and We Have to Embrace Them" set to take place on August 12, 2021 at 10:10 a.m., Craig will be joined by fellow thought leaders, Bob Bowman of The Wendy's Company, Sanjay Shivpuri of Markel, and Joseph Menello as they delve into this important discussion.
The panelists will discuss common pitfalls in communicating with employee witnesses, obtaining their "buy in" to the defense, and the importance of interviewing them early as well of maintaining a line of communication and checking in often. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a roundtable discussion on how each specific type of employee witness should be handled through all stages of litigation, depending on the individual facts and circumstances of the case.
Craig Derrig is the Managing Partner of WSHB's Chicago office.
