WSHB kicked-off 2020 by electing eleven attorneys to the firm's partnership. Michelle Birtja – Based in WSHB's Los Angeles office, Michelle specializes in complex civil litigation with an emphasis in medical malpractice and healthcare law. Michelle has been honored as a Southern California "Rising Star" in 2019-2020 in the area of medical malpractice by Super Lawyers magazine. In addition to her thriving medical malpractice, Michelle also assists our clients with elder law and professional liability matters.
Brooke Bohlke – Licensed to practice in both Nevada and Virginia, Brooke practices in the area of civil litigation representing insurers, self-insured employers, hospitality providers, transportation providers, and construction companies in all phases of litigation before administrative agencies and at arbitrations, mediations and trials. Her experience includes personal injury and workers’ compensation defense, construction defect, and product liability matters. Brooke also represents and counsels corporations, businesses, and management in the field of employment law and handles litigation matters ranging from complex wage and hour class actions to wrongful termination matters. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Nevada Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) Chapter. Brooke is based out of our Las Vegas office.
Justin England – Justin is an experienced litigator handling complex commercial litigation throughout Texas. An experienced trial lawyer, Justin handles an array of cases involving commercial litigation, securities, products liability, construction defect, catastrophic injury, transportation matters, employment litigation, and real estate disputes. A native Texan, Justin's early litigation success translated into honors as a Texas “Rising Star” in 2014 – 2020 in the area of General Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine. Justin is based in WSHB's Dallas office.
Allison Etkin – Headquartered in WSHB's Los Angeles office, Allison defends clients in complex civil disputes in an array of practice areas including construction, real estate, general liability, products liability, subrogation and recovery, contract and business disputes and transportation litigation. She has secured multiple victories for our clients early in the litigation through aggressive law and motion practice, effective negotiation and early dispute resolution techniques. She also routinely advises clients regarding risk management and potential general liability exposure.
Thomas Fama – A licensed real estate broker, Tom's practice focuses on all aspects of real estate including title insurance claims, boundary disputes, easements, mechanic’s liens and broker professional liability. Tom also brings his honed litigation skills to complex construction claims counseling and defending the nation’s largest home builders against all facets of construction defect and construction accident litigation. He is an active CLM member and regularly speaks on panels at seminars across the nation, discussing new and emerging trends with insurance claims, management of claims and litigation in the construction and real estate industry. Tom is the president of the Sigma Chi alumni board at the University of the Pacific. He is based out of the firm's Northern California office.
Kimberly Jones – Kim focuses her practice on insurance coverage and appellate advocacy. She represents admitted and surplus lines insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida, providing advice to clients in first- and third-party coverage matters. Kim was named a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine for her work as an insurance coverage attorney. She currently serves as an officer of the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar. Kim is headquartered out of our Tampa, Florida office.
Danielle Kuck - Danielle is the managing attorney of the firm’s Ventura County, California office. Widely sought after for her savvy litigation prowess in complex commercial and civil litigation, Danielle brings to each matter a thoughtful resolution strategy curated for strategic advantage and results. Her diverse practice focuses on civil litigation including transportation matters, catastrophic injury, products liability, property damage, labor and employment, and construction matters.
Colleen McCaffrey – Licensed to practice in Georgia and North Carolina, Colleen’s practice focuses on providing insurance coverage advice and representing insurers in litigation. She has experience with a variety of insurance coverage issues, including the defense of bad faith and breach of contract actions against insurers in both first-party and third-party claims, as well as pursuing declaratory judgment actions on behalf of domestic and international insurers. Colleen is headquartered in our Atlanta, Georgia office.
Randall Romero – Randall's practice centers on the defense of healthcare providers, including skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities, hospitals, drug and alcohol rehabilitation providers, physicians and nurses, with focus in the areas of elder abuse, negligence, medical malpractice, personal injury and wrongful death. He has worked in healthcare litigation since 1999. In addition to Randall's extensive experience in healthcare, he gained valuable experience in mortgage lending litigation and professional liability with a focus on lender liability as an in-house counsel for one of the nation’s largest mortgage companies. His vast experience in mortgage lender liability includes compliance, strategic business alliances, marketing services agreements, and loan officer compensation issues. Randall is based out of the firm's Los Angeles office.
Richard Singer – Richard is the managing attorney of the firm's Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. He specializes in insurance coverage analysis and policy interpretation, first and third party defense, including bad faith, property and catastrophic injury. Richard has extensive experience in representing and regularly advising domestic and international insurers on first-party property and hurricane catastrophes, representing clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Richard is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia.
Marilyn Victor – Based out of the firm's Thousand Oaks office, Marilyn enjoys a national reputation for her consistent trial results in all aspects of civil litigation. With over two decades of experience, practicing in both state and federal courts, Marilyn brings to each case sage analysis, strategic planning, creative negotiation, problem solving and independent handling of complex legal issues from inception through trial. Marilyn focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of healthcare professionals, transportation and catastrophic injury claims. Highly regarded for her work in professional liability and high exposure matters, she has handled through post-trial actions the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses, mental health providers, fertility specialists and cryopreservation clinics, skilled nursing facilities and residential care facilities. Marilyn is licensed to practice in both California and Pennsylvania.
