Recognized for Continued Success Diversity & Inclusion, Including a Ranking of 10th in the Nation for the Highest Percentage of Diverse Partners and 9th in the Nation for Hispanic Attorneys
WSHB has been honored once again as one of the top 10 law firms in the nation on the American Lawyer's 2021 Diversity Scorecard. In addition to our top ten overall national ranking, WSHB was ranked ninth for Hispanic attorneys and tenth for diverse partners. The American Lawyer's Diversity Scorecard records the average number of full-time equivalent minority attorneys at Am Law 200 and National Law Journal 250 law firms.
"I am thrilled that WSHB has been recognized in the top 10 among law firms in the nation on American Lawyer’s 2021 Diversity Scorecard," said Janice Michaels, managing partner in WSHB's Las Vegas office. "WSHB’s diverse and inclusive workplace is a reflection of the communities in which we practice and the clients we represent. As a woman, as a partner and as a member of WSHB’s DEI Task Force I am proud to be part of our firm’s ongoing commitment to building a diverse and inclusive team."
National recognition is not new for WSHB. The firm received the prestigious Law Firm Diversity Award from the DRI in 2014, and Law360 named WSHB as one of the "Best Law Firms for Minority Attorneys." In addition, WSHB has been ranked as one of the top ten law firms in the nation by Law360's "The 100 Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys" for several years running as well as one of the top three law firms in the nation for inclusiveness of women in the National Law Journal's Women Scorecard.
"As a member of the Diversity Equality and Inclusion Task Force and managing partner of the New Jersey office, I could not be prouder of the firm’s top 10 ranking on the Am Law 2021 Diversity Scorecard. However, we continue to challenge and improve ourselves on being diverse and inclusive, not for the ranking, but because it is the right thing to do," said Kelly Waters.
"I am proud of our firm’s recognition in the Am Law Diversity Scorecard rankings, not because we are chasing rankings at WSHB, but because it affirms that the values that guide the firm have organically yielded a diverse, inclusive, and talented community of individuals whom I am privileged to call my colleagues, added Keith Ybanez, senior counsel in WSHB's Denver office. "Where we are now is validation for that vision, and inspiration for the work that is still to be done."
"Diversity and inclusion is deeply ingrained in WSHB’s identity. We’re truly proud of our continued recognition as one of the leading law firms in diversity practices. There is much more to be done in the legal industry to meaningfully foster equality, and WSHB is excited to continue to lead by example," said Anoush Holaday, a partner in the firm's Northern California.
