Overview
Cheryl Grames is a partner based in WSHB's Nevada offices. Throughout her career, she has successfully defended insurers and healthcare professionals in Nevada. As to her insurance practice, Cheryl has represented both large and small insurers in state and federal courts for over ten years, handling all stages of litigation from inception to appeal. This also includes advising insurers on coverage issues, disputes, and pre-litigation matters. Cheryl has a deep understanding of insurance bad faith litigation in Nevada. She uses her understanding to provide her clients with careful, thoughtful analysis, aggressive motion practice, and well-executed discovery. Cheryl uses these same litigation skills to defend healthcare professionals.
A proud alumna of the William S. Boyd School of Law, Cheryl is actively involved in volunteering as a judge for competitions and providing summer clerkship opportunities for students at her alma mater. While at BSL, she was a teaching assistant to two Lawyering Process professors (legal writing and oral advocacy) as well as a research assistant to three renowned professors. These experiences in law school continue to shape Cheryl's commitment to meaningful mentorship.
Cheryl's path to law school includes teaching American History at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2001, she worked at the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration in Boston, providing technical assistance to and oversight of Vermont's federal employment and training grants and programs.
