Overview
Senior counsel Claire Ries focuses her practice on insurance coverage. Her practical experience consists of rendering coverage opinions, analyzing complex insurance coverage issues for clients, preparing reservation of rights and disclaimer letters, handling declaratory judgment actions, defending bad faith claims, and more. She has extensive knowledge of insurance coverage matters, including the duties to defend and indemnify, the interpretation of insuring agreements and exclusions, claims-made provisions, bad faith, priority, subrogation, disputes over additional insured status, and excess coverage issues. Ms. Ries has handled these coverage matters in connection with an array of insurance policy types, including commercial general liability, professional liability, errors and omissions, employer's liability, workers' compensation, pollution and other limited coverage forms, umbrella, and excess policies. She also has experience with business transactions, regulatory compliance, and commercial litigation. Ms. Ries is based in WSHB's Dallas office.
