Overview
Erica Pope is a senior associate in WSHB’s Tampa office, where she focuses on representing employers in state and federal court litigation and administration proceedings, as well as representing admitted and surplus lines insurers with first-party claim issues. She assists employers with addressing allegations of employment discrimination and harassment, as well as issues related to Title VII, FLSA, ADA, and state civil rights laws. Additionally, she is involved with pre-suit coverage matters and coverage litigation, and has provided coverage opinions, conducted examinations under oath, and assisted with claim investigations.
Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Ms. Pope graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Throughout most of law school, she worked as a law clerk at a firm that concentrated on elder law and estate planning. After graduating, Ms. Pope worked at a firm that specialized in labor and employment matters, where she defended against interference under the FMLA, and race, disability, age, and gender discrimination under state and federal laws.
Before attending law school, Ms. Pope attended Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Certificate in Leadership Studies. In her free time, Ms. Pope enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
