Overview
James “Jake” Jacob is a senior associate attorney in our Florida offices where he handles all aspects of insurance coverage issues. He brings insight into litigated matters from his years of experience in complex litigation where his practice included handling complex commercial real estate, corporate compliance, and consumer protection issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Jake worked as the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Florida Attorney General. In this position, he represented the State of Florida in multi-state regulatory investigations and litigation involving violations of various consumer protections laws, including the Consumer Financial Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Truth In Lending Act, the Homeowner’s Protection Act of 1988, and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. He also worked in the private real estate sector, coordinating the negotiation, preparation and drafting of major tenant leases for a portfolio of over 500,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, multi-family and office space.
Jake graduated from Stetson University College of Law. While there, he served as President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society and the Elections Committee Chairman of the Student Bar Association. He was also the proud recipient of the William F.
