Overview

John Darminio possesses a wealth of experience in navigating complex privacy and cybersecurity litigation. His areas of expertise includes coordinating responses to data security incidents, including ransomware attacks, fraudulent wire transfers, and business email compromise events, and evaluating notification obligations under applicable laws. John is also skilled in handling professional liability, employment practices, and New York Labor Law matters.

Before joining the firm, John defended internet and mobile marketing companies in actions involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, the CAN-SPAM Act, state and federal regulatory matters, general commercial litigation, trademark registration and maintenance, consumer class action matters, insurance coverage and risk transfer, large exposure, catastrophe and event response, and tort defense.

John is a graduate of Pace University School of Law. While in law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science, with a minor in Journalism, from Stony Brook University. John is a member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York. He has experience in all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
