Overview
Kyara L. Herard is a senior associate in WSHB's office in Miami, Florida. As a passionate and skilled litigator, Kyara has a multifaceted range of experience in litigation. At WSHB, she focuses on general liability and first-party property.
As a Miami native, Kyara obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology from Florida State University and her Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law.
Kyara began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender at the Broward County Public Defender's Office, where she represented indigent clients in Misdemeanor, Domestic Violence, and Felony cases from client intake through disposition. As an Assistant Public Defender, she litigated numerous jury trials, evidentiary motions, and magistrate hearings in Criminal Court.
Before joining the firm, Kyara was an associate attorney and in-house counsel, where she gained extensive experience litigating general liability matters.
She is a proud member of the Gwen S. Cherry Bar Association, Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Bar Association, and Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr., Bar Association.
Outside of legal associations, Kyara is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, where she serves her local, regional, and national community in an effort to make this world a better place for all humanity.
