The conference will be held at the Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, CA. from September 18-20, 2024.

Abatemarco will lend her expertise to a critical session addressing the impact of New York's infamous Labor Law on the construction industry. She will be joined by fellow panelists: Alexandra Santa, Claims Consultant from Golden Bear Insurance Company, and Deb Shore, Manager, Commercial Claims from NY Labor Law Nationwide. The session, entitled, "Cracking the Case: Exposing Fraud in New York Construction Site Accidents" will take place September 19, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and will provide essential insights and strategies for stakeholders.

The session will cover:

  • The challenges posed by New York's strict liability Labor Law and its effect on personal injury litigation.
  • The increasing volume of fraudulent claims fueled by a network of lawyers, unions, doctors, and experts.
  • Best practices for stakeholders to identify and combat suspect claims.
  • Tools and strategies to counteract and mitigate the impact of fraudulent claims.
  • Advice on avoiding unnecessary costs and inflated settlements or verdicts.

"New York's Labor Law has created a challenging environment for construction companies, driving up costs and complicating the litigation landscape," said Abatemarco. "This session aims to arm professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate and combat these challenges effectively."

The CLM Construction Conference has been a leading event for over a decade, bringing together insurance and litigation professionals dedicated to the claims industry. This year's conference promises to be an unparalleled opportunity for networking, education, and professional development.
